The Transport Asset Protection Association (TAPA) launched the TSR certification scheme in 2010. TSR stands for ‘Trucking Security Requirements’ and focuses primarily on combating the theft of valuable cargo during transport. We have many years’ experience in transporting pharmaceutical goods, where security is absolutely crucial. That is why we are TAPA TSR-1 certified. This means we meet the highest standards for the secure transport of high-value goods.
The TAPA TSR-1 Certification
TAPA’s Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) have been developed to protect goods transported by road and to improve the safety of drivers and vehicles. The TSR specifies the security standard and the methods to be used to maintain those standards. TSR-1 is the highest level of security.
VTS meets the TAPA TSR-1 quality requirements through the following measures:
- Staff have completed TAPA training
- Certified vehicles (special electronic locks)
- External monitoring of alarms
- TAPA security training for drivers
- Manual containing instructions and procedures
Electronic locks
We have electronic locks fitted to our vehicles. The lock is mounted on the inside of the trailer doors. On the outside, there is an electronic access control system that allows the driver to open the door using a transponder. This transponder is personalised and issued by us. However, we also have the option of using a blocking code. This is a decision we make in consultation with the customer.
