VTS Transport & Logistics has specialised in temperature-controlled transport and storage for the pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years. For example, VTS offers fully temperature-controlled facilities for the storage of medicines at the following temperatures:
- Controlled ambient: +15⁰ to +25⁰ Celsius
- Chilled: +2⁰ to +8⁰ Celsius
- Frozen -40⁰ to -25⁰ Celsius
To assess its compliance with GDP guidelines for the storage of pharmaceutical products, the new VTS warehouse in Boxmeer was inspected on 21 December by the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate from the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport. This inspection focused on the quality system whereby competences and procedures are assessed. The following aspects/activities were assessed during the inspection:
- Storage
- Delivery
- Performance
The testing framework was:
- Medicines Act
- Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Guidelines
In addition to quality systems, the temperature mapping, including the temperature monitoring system, was tested during the inspection. Hygiene, security systems, and camera surveillance were also checked and approved.
To summarise, VTS meets the conditions (resulting from legislation and regulations) to be able to carry out activities in accordance with GDP guidelines. This means VTS can immediately begin operations for existing and future customers from the new location.
