History

1981
After having worked for some years as a tax official, Herman Verdijk decides to start up a transport company in his hometown Oeffelt. He purchases a second-hand lorry with which he transports goods within Europe.

1984
During the first few years Verdijk is daily on the road, driving across Europe. The Sundays are reserved for administration and maintenance jobs. A second truck is bought and a first collaborator engaged.

1985
With the acquisition of taxi- and touring car company Laarakkers in Sambeek, Verdijk turns his attention to personal transport, beside the transport of commodities. The company moves to Sambeek where the entrepreneur now has an office and a garage at his disposal.

1988
Purchase of the first high-volume cooling combination. The vehicle fleet keeps on growing to 12 freight trucks, 3 touring cars and 8 taxi’s.

1995
The company’s growth causes space shortages on the Sambeek site. The new company building arises on the industrial area Saxe Gotha in Boxmeer. Beside transportation, new possibilities for logistical services become visible. Verdijk Logistics Boxmeer b.v. is founded.

1998
Since the company’s relocation in 1995, various additional warehouses have been built. Meanwhile 16,000 m2 of warehouse space is available, with a total capacity of 33,000 pallets. Goods can be stored under various temperature conditions. With the selling of the taxi and touring car company we say goodbye to personal transport. All attention is dedicated to international transportation and logistics. The company’s turnover keeps on growing.

2002
Herman Verdijk wins the entrepreneur premium for the region Land van Cuijk and Noord-Limburg. The jury has special praise for the way Herman Verdijk’s entrepreneurship has developed through the years and the company’s right decisions, taken with due regard for changing market conditions.

2005
We acquire a transport company in Poland. This enables us to offer our services also to East European countries. The vehicle fleet grows to 70 vehicles

2006
25 years jubilee – with almost 100 collaborators the company celebrates its having kept up the pace and maintained its course for all these years.

2008
The company premises of transport and relocation company Van Dijk are acquired. This will allow our Boxmeer establishment sufficient space to keep on growing.

2008
Acquisition of an on-line GPRS temperature tracking system. A big step forward is the Tracking temperature tracking and monitoring system. The system contributes to a growing number of pharmaceutical enterprises favouring VTS’s quality and experience for the conditioned transport of their products.

2008
In Goleniów (Poland), new company premises are built (office, garage, car washing unit and storing facilities).

2009
A new cold store is realised. This storage is exclusively used for cross-docking! Furthermore we have a warehouse with a temperature between +15 and +20 degrees Celsius at our disposition.

2009
Start of the construction of new administrative headquarters in Boxmeer
